~Happy Birthday to meee!~ Don't worry, I know you all forgot. You are forgiven. ;)
I love birthdays, all birthdays, it doesn't matter who's birthday it is, I'll be there! Baking, celebrating and gifting! I love the look on their faces when they open the present you got them. The shock, the happiness... When they blow out the candles on their birthday cake, memories are made along with many wishes.
To celebrate my birthday this year I made myself (yes, I had to make my own birthday cake) Chocolate and Vanilla Twist Cupcakes! The were moist and had two different flavours of icing! Unbelievable! I used to look at cupcakes that used the same technique as this, and say to myself, "Wait, WHAT?!" "How do they do that?!" When it's really simple, you take your two different flavours/colours put them on either side of the piping bag and pipe! This technique is so gorgeous yet so simple, it will blow the guests at your party away! But first you need the recipe first, right? Get your sleeves rolled up and put on an apron because it's baking time!
Chocolate Butter Icing
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups icing sugar
4-6 tbsp milk/ liquer
1/2 cup cocoa
Beat butter together with vanilla. Add icing sugar and milk, alternating between the two. Lastly add cocoa, beat until fully incorporated. Transfer into a piping bag or put in a bowl and seal with plastic wrap so it doesn't go hard. Enjoy!
One spectacular recipe for one special day! You can use this on cakes and brownies too! Stay tuned and make sure to check out next week's post because I have something special planned for you! You are gonna love it! It's gonna be one great month.
Shelan Boake out!
